Brass Lift-Off Shutter Hinge
This brass parliament style shutter hinge is a mortise type shutter hinge that mounts perpendicular to the building and onto the side of the shutter. The shutters close into the window opening.
Modern/New Construction Update - This specialty hinge was created to fulfill a historic restoration requirement while allowing for full functionality by accommodating the closing requirements over a storm window.
STORM WINDOW GAP REQUIREMENT - A 2" gap from leaf edge to leaf edge is available when hinge is closed. Illustrated below.
Common around the Civil War to well into the 20th century, these hinges utilize a single stainless steel pin to allow for easier installation and removal of a shutter for maintenance purpose.
