Cast Iron Drop Bar Gate Latch
This flat black finish cast iron gate drop bar latch set features a square plate design with a 7" Long drop bar. This is a double sided spindle latch set and be used on both gates and doors. Both sides utilize a ring turn to engage and disengage the latch.
Using up to 30% recycled material, individual pieces are handmade and hand cast, resulting in each one being a little different then the rest, special if you will.

WARRANTY ADVISORY - All gates require a physical stop to eliminate the gate from swinging inwards and losing the battle to physics. Hinges will snap or compromise the jamb. Drop bars will break or bend as a result of an improperly installed gate.
In the event that a weather strip or other device is NOT installed to stop the gate in the proper way; please include the Iron Valley Gate Stop by making a selection above. This gate stop can be installed in various spots to eliminate the gate swinging beyond the point of no return or slamming the drop bar against the jamb. If you use this drop bar as the sole closing device for your gate without a stop in place, the drop bar will be damaged. It cannot withstand a heavy gate closing onto it. This latch set is designed to be used with a gate stop in place to stop the gate slightly before the drop bar connects with the back of the catch. This prevents breakage and bending of the drop bar.
