About The Series
The 702 Lima Bean Series Shutter Strap Hinges are 701's before the bevel is applied with a distinct bean designed tip. We hammer out the blanks by hand. The result is the same subtle arc along the hinge edge which creates a very nice profile.
There is three dimensionality to the end of the hinge and the last eight or ten inches carries the forged texture imparted by the fire.
Specifications - Hinge Standoff is the measurement from the hinge back to the middle of the hinge knuckle. Strap length is measured from bend to tip.
- Use "N" hinges with "N" pintles
- Use "W" hinges with "W" pintles
What is Standoff?
There are two schools of thought on a technical specification:
- Hinge Standoff is the measurement from the hinge back to the middle of the hinge knuckle.
- Pintle Standoff is the measurement from the plate back to the middle of the pintle barrel.
- These two measurements when combined create the Offset
- Other manufacturers and suppliers substitute standoff with offset. Either term aside, the hinge and pintle, when installed, combine to hang your open shutter clear of the window jamb and surface of the building.
